Pirates in Rapallo - Giramondo Rapallo

Description

In the year of the lord 4th of July 1549, Rapallo was going to be shacked by a terrible event. Before the sunrise, Alì Turghud Reis (also known as Dragut) arrived in Rapallo with his fleet of 22 fustas and assaulted the town. In this tour you will get to know more about this event and about the rocks and stones of Liguria that still silently narrate terrible pirate stories.

Come along for a 4-5 kilometer guided urban hike. You'll discover how Rapallo's history intertwines with the world of Mediterranean Corsairs and piracy. It's a fresh perspective on exploring the town's rich history, discovering hidden gems, getting some exercise, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts.

Distance: 4,5 km (around 2.5 miles)
Elevation Gain: 150m
Estimated Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes (stops excluded)
Difficoltà: Easy. Suitable for everyone interested in a leisurely walk. There are some short uphill sections, and we may encounter areas with slippery terrain. Please wear comfortable walking shoes or trainers with good grip.

Mandatory Equipment: Wear comfortable walking shoes or trainers with good grip; Wear Comfortable clothes; 0.5l of water per person.

The Path

Starting Point and time: Sunday morning at 9 a.m. - Piazza della Rane, Rapallo. We'll meet in front of the restaurant 'Focaccia in Riviera' at Via Paolo Zunino 1, Rapallo. Google maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vGympHQUTgHbnzGp8.

What should you take with you? Scarpe da ginnastica con una buona tenuta sul bagnato oppure degli scarponcini per camminare. ; Acqua (almeno 0.5L a persona); Giacca a vento, snack.
